Appointment Information and Costs
From your initial booking until you no longer need us, we hope that your physiotherapy journey goes smoothly. Here is some information to help you understand what will happen during your appointment.
Booking an appointment
You can book online unless you are going through a third party (eg workcover or NDIS) or call us to make an appointment. When you make your booking, we may ask questions regarding your condition. This is so we can book you in with the best physiotherapist for your needs. After you book, you will receive an email with our initial client form to fill in. These are quite simple to fill in online - just click on the link, fill out the form, and click ‘submit’. If you have any difficulties filling these out don’t worry, either call and we will talk you through it, or we have paper versions available when you attend your appointment.
Your initial appointment
We believe in spending extra time with our clients so we can get a clear picture on what is troubling you and your goals for recovery, which is why our initial appointments are usually 60 minutes. We conduct a thorough physical assessment and initial treatment, which is often focussed on pain relief. We have private treatment rooms, so you can be assured your appointment is completely confidential, and we only book one client at a time so we can give you our full attention. We might show you some strength exercises or stretches to do at home. We will provide you education on your condition and give you an idea on how long it will take to improve, and book a follow up appointment to see you again. It’s a good idea to wear clothes which are easy to remove from the body part which needs treatment. We have shorts and gowns available if you need them. Parking is available on the street, or in the front or rear carpark of the practice for clients with mobility issues. Wheelchair access is at the rear of the practice.
Follow up appointments
We will continue to see you until your condition has resolved. It is important to continue coming until you are 100%, because if you cease your treatment early there is a chance the pain may return or you won’t get full recovery. Generally at the start of your treatment we will see you more regularly (eg 1-2 x week) and these visits will become more spaced out as treatment progresses. Our follow up appointments are usually 30 minutes, however if you have two areas needing treatment or more complex needs your therapist might suggest booking a 60 minute follow up.
